I was reading The Artist’s Way and came across this quote:

“Each painting has its own way of evolving. When the painting is finished, the subject reveals itself.”

The quote is by a guy named William Baziotes. I have no idea who that is but that was a beautiful idea.

I understood it as once the painting is finished, that’s when I figure out who I am. And what if the painting never finishes? Will I ever fully know myself? Do I need to ever fully know myself? If I’m constantly evolving, learning, expanding my consciousness and mind – would fully knowing myself mean I’ve stopped?

How relevant.
